Winter camping is something for the hard ones -and I would not necessarily call us hard . Although Roland is a cold shower practitioner, he did not seem to enjoy spending the night in perceived freezing temperatures. Slowly we are getting to the south and with the temperature also increases our mood. We are getting better and better and we are adjusting to camping life. Now that the water tank is not going to freeze – hopefully !!! – we filled it up and enjoy the luxury of running water. What I like most is that we cook together every night – more relaxed than looking for restaurants with vegan dishes. Today we had dinner first time outside and baked bread on the gas grill.
The last days we have already passed through many beautiful landscapes: the snow-capped Alps, the Lago Maggiore, the Maritime Alps and the Riviera. Especially remarkable: the nature reserve Camargue with the diving pink flamingos. In the Corbieres we spent a night in the medieval village Lagrasse and now passed the Pyrenees to Spain. From the lowest -12 degrees we arrived today at 15 degrees and enjoyed a sunny day. We have found a wonderful silent place at a reservoir, today we stay in the hills at the seaside. It’s a splendid adventure going south- discovering nature’s beauties so near by.
